Channel recording
Radio channel recording, for when recollection is not good enough.
Timestamped audio from your staff channels across the event. Most weekends you will never open it. The one weekend something goes wrong, it is the difference between a record and an argument.

Why bother
Nobody remembers an incident the same way.
When something happens at an event, the account of it is assembled afterwards from several people who were busy, stressed and in different places. That is not anyone being dishonest. It is just what memory does under pressure.
A recorded channel removes the guesswork. What was called in, when, and what was said back. It is the kind of thing nobody thinks about until the first time they need it and do not have it.
Who actually asks for this
- Events with a licensing condition requiring a record of staff communications. Some premises licences and some event management plans ask for it specifically.
- Anywhere with a safeguarding responsibility. Events involving young people where a lost child call or a welfare concern needs an accurate timeline afterwards.
- Organisers with an insurer or a local authority to answer to if something goes wrong, who would rather hand over a timestamped log than a set of recollections.
- Larger sites with multiple teams where it is genuinely unclear after the fact whether a call was made, received or missed.
How it works
It runs on the channels we operate for you as part of radio hire. There is nothing for your stewards to switch on and nothing extra for them to carry. Audio is captured for the duration of the event and timestamped, so you can go to a time rather than listen to a weekend.
Recordings are made available to the people you nominate and to nobody else. We do not listen to them as a matter of course and we do not keep them indefinitely.
The bit you must do
Everyone using a recorded channel has to be told it is recorded. We require that as a condition of providing it, and it belongs in your pre-event steward briefing alongside everything else you cover.
This is not us being cautious for the sake of it. Recording people without telling them is unlawful, and a recording nobody was told about is worth less than no recording at all if it is ever examined. The full detail of how we handle the audio, how long we keep it and what rights people have is in the privacy notice.
What you get regardless
Whether or not you contract recording, we log aggregate channel metrics on every radio fleet we operate: transmission counts, how busy each channel was, signal quality. Those are technical measurements and they do not identify anybody, but they are genuinely useful when you are planning next year and wondering whether you had too many channels or not enough.
